Halloween crafts: Crochet Sugar Skulls

Materials:

white yarn

crochet hook (pick a size that works for your yarn)

scrap yarn in different colors

buttons

Abbreviations: 
ch = chain 
sc = single crochet 
sl st = slip stitch

Pattern:

Begin: Chain 2.

Round 1: 6 sc in 2^nd ch from hook. Sl st in first sc.

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc from round 1. Sl st in first sc.

Round 3: Ch 1, [sc, 2sc in next st] repeat around. Sl st in first sc.

Round 4: Ch 1, [sc 2x, 2sc in next st] repeat around. Sl st in first sc. Turn.

To form the bottom of the skull:

Rows 1 – 2: Sc 6x across. Turn.

Weave in ends. Embroider on facial features. Admire!
